Strengths:
Weaknesses:
- Battery operated cameras can be placed in areas unachievable with plug in models.
- You can take them with you traveling or keep them in your pocket or purse.
- They are excellent for close quarter surveillance or out in a public area.
- These spy cameras can be concealed dropped in a location, and picked up later.
- Many models have a motion detection feature to conserve battery life and storage space.
Weaknesses:
- Battery life is usually between 1 to 1.5 hours. These units need to be recharged.
- Most models do not have night vision so are unable to see in the dark.
2. Powered Spy Cameras
If you need a long term solution and have access to power, plug in spy cameras are the way to go. Because you do not need to worry about recharging the camera, you can set it and forget it.

3. WiFi Enabled Spy Cameras
WiFi enabled hidden spy cameras allow the user to look in live to the location to catch a potential thief.
Often these cameras are built into clocks or other everyday household or office items and are virtually undetectable.
